Canottieri Varese, one of the most renowned rowing clubs in Italy, has a long standing tradition in rowing since 1927 and today is one of the most important Italian rowing clubs in terms of number of athletes and event organization.
Over the years, top class rowers and elite athletes have chosen Canottieri Varese and its lake to train and prepare for competition around the world.

Canottieri Varese in collaboration with the Italian Rowing Federation (FIC) and International Rowing Federation (FISA), has hosted national and international rowing events. These have included the 2014 Italian National Championships; the 2012 European Rowing Championships; 2013 World Rowing Masters Regatta; 2014 World Rowing U23 Championships; and 2015 World Rowing Cup II. In 2016 Varese will host the World Rowing Cup I.
